5 TRICKS FOR COOLING WINE THIS SUMMER
Holidays, summer and wine... Sounds great, and if we add friends, beach, laughter, music, even better!
But, hands up who hasn't had it happen to them when they are in good company, when they are having a snack, a fresh salad, a cheese board, etc. and suddenly they forget to chill the wine.
Don't worry, from Casa de la Ermita we are going to give you the perfect solution to chill the wine in less time than a rooster crows and your guests won't notice it, besides you can surprise them in an original way with some of these tricks, so let's go there.
1. One of the most useful tricks and the first thing we think of is the one with water and ice, it simply consists of filling a container with a little water and ice, so that while you are preparing dinner it will be more than enough time for the wine to be perfect (approx. 15 minutes).
2. Another option that does not fail, apart from adding water and ice in the container, is to add a couple of spoonfuls of salt to the previous mixture and stir. The combination of water and salt produces a thermal reaction that makes the salt absorb the heat of the bottle of wine and so the coldness of the ice passes much more quickly to the bottle.
3. It may be that we don't have ice at home either. Don't panic, we can wrap the bottle with wet paper or a wet kitchen towel and put it in the freezer for 10/15 minutes.
Putting the bottles directly into the freezer is not the most advisable thing to do due to the sudden change in temperature, but in some urgent cases, it works.
4. A classic is the adjustable cooler sleeve, capable of cooling the bottle in about 10/15 minutes, you only need to put the bag in the freezer beforehand to cool it down and once ready you can sheathe your bottle in no time.
5. One of the tastiest and also you can sink your teeth into it and above all less harmful to the wine is to cool it with frozen grapes, just always have a bag with grapes in the freezer, the effect is almost immediate (we will add 3 or 4 grapes to our glass) so the wine will cool quickly without diluting the inside, also once you drink the wine you will have a sweet snack.
Although the most correct method is to be cautious and plan ahead and put the wine in the fridge to cool it little by little (60 minutes for white wines and 20/25 minutes for red wine).
